What Is Alpha Arbutin
Arbutin is extracted from the leaves of arbutin. Its main effect on skin care is to inhibit melanin, reduce skin pigmentation, and play the functions of removing spots, killing bacteria and reducing inflammation.
Arbutin can be divided into Beta-Arbutin, Alpha-Arbutin.
The results showed that α-arbutin inhibited the activity of tyrosinase at a low concentration, and its inhibitory effect on tyrosinase was better than that of β-arbutin.
How Alpha Arbutin works
What Does Alpha Arbutin Do For Your Skin
1. Whitening And Spotting
Alpha-Arbutin can competitively and reversibly inhibit tyrosinase, thereby inhibiting the production of melanin and achieving the effects of whitening, brightening and removing spots.
2. Repair Damaged Skin
Alpha-Arbutin can inhibit the degradation of proteins such as insulin during in vitro experiments, promote skin cell growth and help heal wounds. Human skin cell culture experiments in vitro show that when arbutin is present in a small amount (10-3mmol/L), the cell growth rate is significantly increased, and it has skin care functions.
Because Alpha-Arbutin has a good effect on skin conditioning, it can maintain cell activity while repairing damage, so it has a certain antioxidant effect.
Alpha-Arbutin also has the effect of absorbing ultraviolet rays. Some researchers conducted special tests on sunscreen products with Alpha-Arbutin and found that Alpha-Arbutin exhibits a certain UV absorption capacity.
