Sost biotech Successfully Passes HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 Recertification at Double Certification - A New Chapter
At 5:30 PM on September 16th, as the final auditor signed the final meeting, warm applause erupted in the conference room at Sost biotech's headquarters. The company, in partnership with the China Quality Certification Center (CQC), successfully completed the on-site recertification audits for its HACCP Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points system and ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System. The new certificates, valid until September 2026, mark the company's renewed national recognition of global food safety and quality control, laying a solid foundation for compliance and future export expansion and R&D.
The two-day audit involved a CQC team composed of five experts in food safety, regulatory traceability, and allergen management. They conducted a comprehensive, on-the-fly audit of Sost Biotech's entire supply chain, from farmland to finished product.
Raw Materials: Seven popular cross-border extracts, including acai berry, chaga, and eleuthero, were randomly sampled and their organic farming sites' soil pesticide residue reports, harvesting records, and transportation temperature control logs were traced.
Production: The team conducted in-depth inspections of the solid beverage workshop and Class 100,000 clean extraction line to verify the effectiveness of clean-in-place (CIP) cleaning and the setting and monitoring of critical limits (CLs).
Testing: On-site blind sample assessments were conducted, with parallel tests for aflatoxin B1 in yam powder and solvent residue in grape seed extract, with results below the LOD.
Emergency: Simulating a public outcry regarding excessive pesticide residues in matcha extract, the team initiated a product recall within 30 minutes, earning a V-level rating for its responsiveness.
The audit concluded that the company's food safety management system received full marks in all three indicators: "sustained compliance, effectiveness, and improvement." With no documented non-conformities, the company was recommended for re-registration. In fact, HACCP and ISO 22000 are just two pieces of Sost biotech's certification matrix. To date, the company maintains over ten international certifications, including ISO 9001:2015 quality management, HALAL, KOSHER, EU & USDA ORGANIC, and US FDA food facility registration, forming a multi-faceted defense system encompassing religious, organic, pharmacopoeial, and customer audits.
Going forward, Sost biotech will continue to position itself as a "plant extract technology innovator," focusing on formula optimization and cost iteration for solid beverages and high-purity extracts for export, offering a more cost-effective "Chinese solution" to global functional food, health supplement, and cosmeceutical brands.
